1980〜1990年代頃に織られた西陣織の袋帯と推定される一枚を額装しました。
柔らかな光沢をまとった白い牡丹が、淡い背景に凛と咲き誇り、上品な存在感を放ちます。
牡丹は「百花の王」と称され、富貴・繁栄・幸福を象徴する吉祥文様。
中でも白牡丹は、清らかさや高貴さ、そして気品を兼ね備え、華やかでありながらも控えめな美しさが漂います。

白一色の牡丹は帯の中でも数が少なく、糸の質感や陰影で花の立体感を表現するためには高度な織技術が求められます。
そのため、デザイン面・技術面の両方で希少性の高い作品です。

This piece is framed from a Nishijin fukuro-obi woven in Kyoto during the 1980s–1990s.
A single white peony, woven with a soft, lustrous sheen, blooms gracefully against a pale background, radiating quiet elegance.

The peony, known as the “King of Flowers,” is a classic auspicious motif symbolizing wealth, prosperity, and happiness.
In particular, the white peony embodies purity, dignity, and refined grace—its beauty is both striking and understated.

Pure white peonies are rare in obi textiles, and achieving their dimensionality through weaving requires exceptional skill and craftsmanship.
This work is therefore considered highly valuable, both for its design and for the technical mastery it represents.
