◆The Birth of the Artworks (作品が生まれたきっかけ)
This artwork is something my father-in-law created to introduce Japanese culture to foreigners.
Leveraging his English skills, he established an advertising agency,
translating advertisements for major corporations and promoting the appeal of Japan,
primarily in the Kansai region, to an international audience.

In his later years, he conceived the idea of "JAPAN ART BANK Obi Art Frames,"
which proposed enjoying traditional Japanese garments like kimonos and obis,
symbolic of Japan's uniqueness and traditional culture, as works of art.
His passion and vision are deeply embedded in this creation.
It serves as a means to showcase the beauty of Japanese culture and inspire and touch the hearts of many people.

この作品は義父が日本文化を外国人に紹介するために生み出したものです。
彼は英語のスキルを活かし、広告会社を設立、大手企業広告の翻訳をはじめ、関西を主に日本の魅力を海外にアピールしました。
晩年に考案した「JAPAN ART BANK 帯アートフレーム」は、日本の独自性や伝統文化を象徴する着物や帯をアートとして楽しむことを提案するというアイデアです。
義父の情熱とビジョンがこの作品に詰まっています。
日本文化の美しさを紹介し、多くの人々に感動とインスピレーションを与える作品です。

◆The Shop Owner's Vision(オーナーの想い)
The reason I started the Obi Art Frames was because I was captivated by their beauty.
In my younger years, I had the opportunity to work overseas and witnessed foreigners displaying their knowledge and deep interest in Japanese culture and history.
Through these experiences, I became aware of my own lack of knowledge and felt a strong desire to deepen my understanding of Japanese culture.
I began learning the way of tea (茶道) and kimono dressing (着付け),
explored Japan's famous sites, and even obtained qualifications in food education,
which led me to appreciate Japanese culinary culture.
As a result, I became more acutely aware of my identity
as a Japanese person. I realized that Japan has many unique and wonderful things that cannot be found anywhere else, and I also came to understand the importance of preserving and passing them on to the next generation. By finding new value in the old, we are contributing to building the future, and I am proud to say that these products also play a significant role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The original creator, my father-in-law, sought to promote the obi art frames, but unfortunately, due to illness, he was unable to realize that goal.
Therefore, I made the decision to carry on his legacy and take up the challenge in his place.
This project is not easy, but I am determined to uphold my father-in-law's vision and play a role in introducing the beauty and wonder of Japan to the world.

私が帯アートフレームを始めた理由は、その美しさに魅了されたからです。
若い頃、海外で仕事をする機会があり、外国人が日本文化や歴史に対する知識や熱い関心を示す姿に触れました。
その経験から自分の知識不足に気付き、日本文化への理解をもっと深めたいと思いました。
茶道や着付けを学んだり、日本の名所巡りから食文化へも感心をもち食育の資格を取得。
それにより、自分が日本人であることをより強く意識するようになりました。
日本には日本にしかない素晴らしいものが沢山あることに気付き、
これらを守り、次世代へ伝えていく事の大切さにも気付かされました。古いものに新しい価値を見出すことで未来を築く一翼を担っていることも含め、これらは持続可能な開発目標（SDGs）の達成にも寄与した素晴らしい商品だと自負しております。

第一の制作者である義父は帯アートフレームを広めようとしていましたが、
病気により実現できなかった現実があります。
そのため、義父の遺志を継ぎ、私が代わって挑戦しようと決意しました。
このプロジェクトは簡単ではありませんが、義父の思いを受け継ぎ、
日本の美しさや素晴らしさを世界に紹介する役割を果たしたいと考えています。
