このアートを発案したのは義父。夫の父親です。義父は、長年にわたりデザイン広告会社を営み、 日本と海外の架け橋となる仕事を数多く手がけてきました。
晩年に「JAPAN ART BANK／帯アートフレーム」を考案。
日本を訪れた海外の方々に、日本らしい文化的価値が高く、記念に残るものを届けたい。 そして、日本の伝統美を世界に発信したい。 そんな想いから、帯の美しさをARTとして楽しむ作品づくりを始めました。

芸術や文化への造詣が深く、独自の鋭い感性と強いこだわりを持つ義父は、 自ら気に入ったデザインの帯だけを10年以上前からコレクションし、 この帯アートフレームの制作・発信の準備を進めていました。 その時の嬉しそうで誇らしげな表情を、私は今でも忘れられません。
しかし始めて間もなく、義父は病に倒れ、制作を続けることができなくなってしまいました。
残された数多くの美しい帯、作りかけの帯アートフレームたち。
このまま日の目を浴びることなく消えてしまいそうな状況にやるせない思いでした。

そこで私は義父の遺志を継ぎ、この活動を引き継ぐことを決意しました。
義父の想いを大切に受け継ぎながら、私自身の感性や表現も重ねて「日本の美」を発信していきたいと思っています。
そして、伝統に敬意を払いながら、 これまで当たり前だと思ってきた日本人としての精神や文化を改めて探り、深く理解していきたいと思っています。

The original idea for this art was conceived by my late father-in-law — my husband’s father.
My late father-in-law ran a design and advertising company for many years,
working on numerous projects that served as a bridge between Japan and the rest of the world. In his later years, he conceived “JAPAN ART BANK / Obi Art Frame” —
with the hope of creating something that carries cultural value, something deeply Japanese that visitors from abroad could take home as a lasting memory.

He dreamed of sharing the beauty of Japanese tradition with the world,
and from that wish, the idea of enjoying the beauty of the obi as a form of art was born.

With a deep appreciation for art and culture, and a sharp creative sensibility,
he personally selected only the obi designs that truly spoke to him, building a collection over more than ten years as he prepared to bring these works to life.

I can still vividly recall the proud and joyful expression on his face at that time.

However, soon after he began this project, he fell ill and was no longer able to continue his work.
Many beautiful obi, along with unfinished Obi Art Frames, were left behind —
and the thought that they might never see the light of day filled me with a deep sense of helpless sorrow.

So I decided to carry on his vision and continue this work.
While cherishing his passion, I also strive to infuse each creation with my own sensibility and expression,
hoping to share the beauty of Japan with people around the world.

At the same time, with deep respect for tradition,
I wish to explore and rediscover the spirit and culture of Japan—
the very essence that I once took for granted as a Japanese person.
