1980〜1990年代頃に京都で織られたと推定される、西陣織の絣織（かすりおり）という技法による帯を使った一点物のアートフレームです。緯糸をあらかじめ染め分け、柄の位置を綿密に計算して織り上げる絣織は、わずかなずれも許されない高度な職人技を要します。この時代、西陣でも限られた織元だけが手掛けたモダンデザインの帯は生産数が少なく、今となっては極めて希少です。
深い藍地に鮮烈な赤・緑・黄の曲線が交差する、現代アートのようなモダンで抽象的な大胆なデザイン。これは、人と人とのご縁、生命の循環、そして調和の美を象徴しており、和の精神が表現されています。ところどころに見られる糸の重なりや遊び糸も、織物ならではの“自然な風合い”の一部。完璧さよりも、“唯一無二の美”を宿したアートとしてお楽しみください。

This exceptional one-of-a-kind art frame features an obi, estimated to have been woven in Kyoto during the 1980s–1990s, using the kasuri-ori (ikat weaving) technique of Nishijin-ori. In this highly sophisticated process, the weft threads are pre-dyed in meticulously calculated sections so the patterns align perfectly during weaving—a level of precision that allows no margin for error and demands outstanding artisanal skill.

In this era, modern-design obi were produced by only a handful of select workshops in Nishijin, in very limited quantities. Today, such pieces are regarded as exceptionally rare and highly collectible.

The deep indigo background is boldly enlivened by intersecting curves of vivid red, green, and yellow, creating a striking modern and abstract design reminiscent of contemporary art. These flowing forms symbolize human connection, the cycles of life, and the beauty of harmony, embodying the refined spirit of Japan.

Delicate thread overlaps and playful loose yarns are part of the textile’s authentic charm—unique characteristics that arise naturally in the weaving process.
