garyu- Graceful Flow － 雅流

1980〜1990年代頃の西陣織と推定されます。
金銀糸と多彩な色糸を駆使して、雅やかな平安朝の情景が立体的に表現しています。
モチーフは、宮中の高貴さを象徴する御所車（ごしょぐるま）と、古典文様である檜垣（ひがき）文様をアレンジした幾何学柄。檜垣文様は檜の板を斜めに組んだ垣根に由来し、長寿や家運隆盛を願う吉祥柄として古くから用いられています。本作では、その檜垣を装飾的に変形させ、御所車や流麗な曲線と組み合わせることで、重厚感と動きのある構図に仕上げられています。

Estimated to be Nishijin-ori from the 1980s–1990s.
With masterful use of gold, silver, and multicolored threads, this piece depicts an elegant scene from the Heian court in striking three-dimensional detail.

The motifs include the gosho-guruma (imperial court carriage), a symbol of aristocratic refinement, and a geometric arrangement inspired by the classical higaki pattern. The higaki motif, derived from fences made of diagonally arranged cypress boards, has long been regarded as an auspicious design representing longevity and family prosperity.

In this work, the higaki has been decoratively transformed and combined with the flowing curves and imperial carriage, creating a composition rich in depth, dignity, and movement.
