1960年～80年代の西陣織と推定されます。
“久遠（くおん）”とは永遠を意味し、亀甲文や菊・唐草が持つ「不変」「繁栄」「長寿」の意味合いに重ねて、「久遠の華」と名付けました。
重厚感のある生地と細部にまで織り出された文様、金銀と朱色の力強くも美しい発色。
日本の伝統文様はもちろん、国花である菊をモチーフとした高貴なデザインです。
・亀甲文（きっこうもん）
六角形の幾何学文様。長寿や繁栄を象徴する吉祥文。
・菊花文（きっかもん）
中央に大輪の菊花が織り出されており、不老長寿・高貴さを象徴。
・唐草文様（からくさもんよう）
花の周囲を囲む蔓状の文様。生命力・繁栄・永続性を意味。
Estimated to be Nishijin-ori woven between the 1960s and 1980s.
The title “Kuon no Hana (Flowers of Eternity)” comes from the word kuon, meaning eternity, layered with the symbolic meanings of the motifs — the hexagonal tortoiseshell pattern, chrysanthemums, and arabesque vines — all of which represent endurance, prosperity, and longevity.
The textile features a richly textured ground and intricately woven details, with striking yet elegant tones of gold, silver, and vermilion.
It embodies both traditional Japanese auspicious motifs and a noble design centered on the chrysanthemum, Japan’s national flower.
Motif Meanings
• Kikkō Pattern (Tortoiseshell Hexagon)
A geometric hexagonal motif symbolizing longevity and prosperity.
• Chrysanthemum Motif
A large chrysanthemum bloom woven at the center, representing immortality, longevity, and nobility.
• Karakusa (Arabesque Vine Pattern)
Flowing vine motifs surrounding the flowers, symbolizing vitality, growth, and enduring continuity.
