1970〜1990年代、京都・西陣織と推定される袋帯を用いて制作しました。
繊細な織りと色糸によって表現されたやわらかな立体感から、当時の高度な技術と洗練された美意識が感じられます。
吉兆を表す「瑞雲」を背景に、七宝文、青海波、藤、桐、橘、紅葉など、数多くの吉祥文様が重なり合うように配されています。
それらの文様を優しく包み込む瑞雲は、幸福の訪れや良き兆しを象徴しています。
調和・繁栄・永く続く幸運への願いが、やわらかな色彩の中に表現されていることから作品名を「瑞雲華」と名付けました。
・七宝文：円が連なり、調和とご縁が絶えず続くことを象徴
・青海波：穏やかな波が広がるように、平和で安定した未来を意味する
・亀甲文様：亀の甲羅に由来し、長寿や健康、末永く続く繁栄への願いを象徴
・立涌文様：立ち上る蒸気の流れを表し、運気の上昇や生命の躍動、吉祥の気を象徴
・藤：しなやかに垂れる姿に、繁栄や長寿への願いが込められる
This piece is created using a vintage fukuro obi believed to have been woven in Kyoto’s Nishijin district between the 1970s and 1990s.
Its refined weaving and the soft dimensionality expressed through colored threads reflect the high level of craftsmanship and sophisticated aesthetic sensibility of the time.
Set against a background of Zuiun (auspicious clouds symbolizing good omens), the design features an elegant layering of traditional Japanese motifs such as Shippo (interlocking circles), Seigaiha (wave patterns), wisteria, paulownia-inspired forms, tachibana, and autumn leaves.
The gently enveloping clouds represent the arrival of happiness and positive signs.
Inspired by the way these motifs express wishes for harmony, prosperity, and enduring good fortune through soft and graceful colors, this work is titled “Zuiunka” (瑞雲華).
Meanings of the motifs
・Shippo (Interlocking Circles): Symbolizes harmony, connection, and an unbroken chain of relationships
・Seigaiha (Blue Ocean Waves): Represents peaceful continuity and a calm, stable future
・Kikko (Tortoiseshell Pattern): Derived from the turtle’s shell, symbolizing longevity, health, and lasting prosperity
・Tatewaku (Rising Steam Pattern): Depicts rising vapor, symbolizing upward energy, vitality, and auspicious flow
・Wisteria: Its gracefully cascading form embodies wishes for prosperity and longevity
