背景地の上品な光沢感や、立体的な刺繍糸による鮮やかな彩色、繊細かつ均整の取れた文様構成から、高度な機械織と手刺繍の技術が融合した作品であることがうかがえます。
車輪を思わせる文様は循環や時の流れを象徴し、流れるような曲線は未来へ向かう動きや発展を感じさせます。
晴れやかな舞台の幕が開く瞬間のような構図と配色。広がる意匠からは、過去から未来へと続く時間の流れと、新たな世界へ踏み出す高揚感が感じられます。
金糸や色糸による流線文様は光の軌跡のように映り、躍動感と未来への希望を表現しているかのようです。光が大空へと翔けていく情景を重ね、本作品を 「光翔」 と名付けました。
Estimated to be a Nishijin obi woven in the 1980s–1990s.
The elegant luster of the background fabric, the vivid colors created with dimensional embroidery threads, and the delicate yet well-balanced composition of the motifs suggest a sophisticated fusion of advanced machine weaving and hand embroidery techniques.
The wheel-like motifs symbolize the cycle of life and the passage of time, while the flowing curves evoke movement, progress, and a journey toward the future.
The composition and color palette resemble the opening of a grand stage curtain on a celebratory occasion. The expanding design conveys a sense of time flowing from past to future, along with the excitement of stepping into a new world.
The flowing patterns woven with gold and colored threads appear like trails of light, expressing vitality, momentum, and hope for the future.
Inspired by the image of light soaring across the open sky, this piece was given the title “Kōshō” (Light in Flight).
