深い色の地に、金糸を中心とした繊細な線で、人物や建物、草花が描かれています。
御簾（みす）を思わせる建築の中で向かい合う人物たち。その姿は、まるで日本の古典的な物語の一場面を覗いているようです。古典的で雅やかな情景の中に、どこか愛らしさを感じさせる人物の表現も、この帯ならではの魅力です。
人物や建物、草花が織りなす穏やかな情景から、作品名を「和物語」と名付けました。時を越えて、見る人それぞれの物語を想像させてくれる作品です
This piece is believed to have been made from a vintage Nishijin obi dating from the late Showa period.
Against a deep-colored background, figures, architecture, and plants are delicately depicted mainly in shimmering gold threads.
The figures facing one another within architecture reminiscent of traditional misu screens evoke a scene from a classical Japanese tale. Alongside its refined, classical atmosphere, the charming depiction of the figures gives the piece a gentle and intimate character.
The name “Wamonogatari” was inspired by this peaceful scene woven from people, architecture, and nature—a moment that invites each viewer to imagine a story of their own.
