Mizuho – Land of Golden Harvests ｰ 瑞穂

1980〜90年代頃の西陣織の袋帯と推定されます。
金糸と銀糸で繊細に織り出された稲穂が、光の角度によって豊かな表情を見せます。稲穂は、日本において「豊穣」「実り」「繁栄」を象徴する吉祥文様。
本作品の題名 「瑞穂（みずほ）」 は、日本の古称で「豊かな稲穂の国」を意味し、日本の自然と文化への感謝の心が込められた文様から名付けました。
秋風に揺れる穂先を思わせる優雅な曲線と、籾（もみ）を表す温かなオレンジのアクセントが
生命力と温もりを感じさせてくれます。

This piece is believed to be made from a Nishijin-ori fukuro-obi woven in Kyoto during the 1980s–1990s.
Delicately woven with gold and silver threads, the rice ears shimmer with different expressions depending on the angle of light.

In Japan, rice ears are auspicious motifs symbolizing abundance, harvest, and prosperity.
The title of this work, “Mizuho”, derives from an ancient name for Japan meaning “the land of abundant rice,” reflecting gratitude for the nation’s nature and culture.

The graceful curves suggest ears swaying in the autumn breeze, while the warm orange accents, representing the rice grains, evoke vitality and a sense of warmth.
