Play of Blessings -福あそび-

昭和後期から平成初期（1975年〜1990年頃）に制作された染帯を使用しています。柔らかな正絹の帯地に描かれているのは、古来より福を招く存在とされてきた「稚児（ちご）」たちの、無邪気で愛らしい遊びの情景です。

稚児とは、日本の神事や仏事、祝いの場などで登場する装束姿の子どもを指し、無垢・純真・健やかな成長の象徴とされています。稚児たちは、扇や弓矢、的といった縁起物を手にしながら遊びに興じており、それぞれが魔除けや目標達成の意味を持ちます。背景の鮮やかな朱赤は、子どもを守る色として古くから用いられてきたもので、空間にあたたかく華やかな彩りを添えています。
小さな命の輝きと、幸福を願う日本の美意識が込められた、見る人の心を和ませる一枚です。

This obi art frame features a dyed silk obi created in the late Showa to early Heisei period (circa 1975–1990).
Depicted on the soft silk fabric are charming and playful scenes of chigo—children traditionally believed to bring good fortune in Japan.

Chigo refers to children dressed in ceremonial attire who appear in Japanese religious festivals, rituals, and celebratory events. They symbolize purity, innocence, and healthy growth. In this piece, the children are joyfully playing with auspicious items such as folding fans, bows, and targets—each representing protection from evil and the achievement of goals.
