JAPAN ART BANKのロゴデザインでもあるレインボーカラーの扇文様。1950年～1970年代頃の西陣織と推測されます。
複数の扇が重なり合うように描かれており、これは「末広がり」の形状から、繁栄・発展・吉兆を表す吉祥文様です。特に婚礼衣装やお祝いの席などでよく使われる縁起の良いモチーフです。緑・橙・赤のグラデーションは自然界の豊かさや四季を象徴していると思われます。とくにグラデーション染めが入っていることから、昭和期のデザインらしい大胆さと華やかさが見られます。また、金糸による縁取りは格式の高さを示しており、帯としても上質なものです。

The rainbow-colored fan motif, which also appears in the JAPAN ART BANK logo design, is believed to be a piece of Nishijin-ori from around the 1950s to 1970s.

Depicting multiple overlapping fans, this design represents a traditional Japanese auspicious motif. The fan’s shape—broadening outward—symbolizes prosperity, growth, and good fortune. It is often used in celebratory garments, especially for weddings and festive occasions.

The gradation of green, orange, and red is thought to reflect the richness of nature and the changing seasons. The use of color gradients and bold composition are characteristic of Showa-era design, showcasing both vibrancy and elegance. The gold-thread outlines further emphasize the high status and quality of the fabric, indicating that this obi was a luxurious item.
