1980年～1990年代頃の西陣織を使って制作しました。
霞のように広がる雲の中に、四季の花々が咲き誇る情景から「花霞」と名付けました。
・雲取り文様
雲を図案化した吉祥文様。天上世界を象徴し、運気の上昇や吉兆の訪れを意味します。
・撫子（なでしこ）
日本女性の美しさ・優しさ・気品の象徴。古来より愛されてきた大和撫子の象徴花。
・桔梗（ききょう）
誠実・気品・永遠の愛を表す。武家の家紋にも使われる格式高い花。
・梅
寒さの中で咲くことから、忍耐・再生・希望の象徴。
・菊
不老長寿、邪気払い、無病息災。
非常に縁起の良い吉祥文様・花。天皇の御紋（菊花紋章）や日本の国花でもあり、格式高く、高貴な花としてお正月や長寿のお祝いに重宝されます。
This artwork was created using a fukuro-obi woven in Kyoto’s Nishijin district during the 1980s–1990s.
Named Hanakasumi after the scene of seasonal flowers appearing gently within golden clouds, like blossoms floating in a soft spring haze.
(Meanings of the motifs)
• Cloud motif (Kumodori)
A traditional auspicious design symbolizing heavenly realms, rising fortune, and good omens.
• Nadeshiko
A symbol of feminine grace, gentleness, and refined beauty in Japanese culture.
• Kikyō (Bellflower)
Represents sincerity, dignity, and eternal love; historically used in samurai family crests.
• Ume (Plum blossom)
Symbolizes perseverance, renewal, and hope, as it blooms in the cold of late winter.
• Chrysanthemum
A symbol of longevity, protection from evil, and good health.
It is an extremely auspicious motif in Japanese culture. The chrysanthemum is also the Imperial crest of Japan and is regarded as the national flower, making it a highly prestigious and noble bloom traditionally associated with New Year celebrations and longevity wishes.
