この帯アートフレームは、昭和初期から中期（1930〜1950年代）にかけて織られた礼装用の袋帯で制作しました。正絹と金糸、箔糸が贅沢に使われた晴れの日の帯です。

大胆に走る鋭角のラインは、日本の伝統文様である「雷文（らいもん）」を思わせるデザイン。雷は古来より豊穣や再生の象徴とされ、「稲妻が走ることで稲が育つ」という言い伝えもあるほど、自然のエネルギーと深く結びついています。その稲妻文様を、金糸の雲取り文様が静かに包み込み、躍動と静寂が共存する構図が生まれています。

地紋には「亀甲（きっこう）」や「花菱」など、吉祥を意味する伝統文様が細やかに織り込まれており、細部に至るまで職人の手仕事の妙が光ります。金糸や箔糸が光の角度によって輝きが変化し、見るたびに表情を変えるのも魅力のひとつです。

This one-of-a-kind art frame features a stunning fragment of a Japanese fukuro obi (formal kimono sash), woven in the early to mid-Showa period (1930s–1950s). Once worn on celebratory occasions, this obi has been carefully repurposed into a contemporary piece of interior art, preserving its elegance while breathing new life into its story.

The striking zigzag motif evokes the traditional Raimon—a thunderbolt design that has long symbolized nature’s force, vitality, and transformation. In Japanese culture, lightning (inazuma) is considered a sign of abundance, as it was believed to nourish rice fields. Here, the sharp energy of the thunder pattern is gracefully balanced by sweeping golden cloud motifs (kumo-dori), representing celestial realms and auspicious futures.

Intricate background patterns such as kikkō (hexagons, symbolizing longevity) and hanabishi (stylized flowers, signifying prosperity) are woven with metallic threads, showcasing the artisan’s exquisite craftsmanship. The shimmering gold changes expression depending on the angle of light, giving the piece a dynamic presence.

“RAIKŌ,” meaning “Lightning Light”, embodies the moment a bold spark illuminates the calm—
a harmony of strength and grace, captured in textile form.
