hanautsuwa -はなうつわ

1950〜80年代に織られた西陣織の袋帯と推定されます。
優しい金地に浮かぶのは、繊細な糸で織り出された丸皿文様。その中に菊や桜、紅葉など四季の草花が彩り豊かに収められています。まるで器に生けられた花々のように、整った美しさと温かな華やかさを感じさせてくれます。
器は「受けとめる」「満たす」など、心の豊かさや感謝、祝福の象徴ともされるモチーフ。
額装することで、インテリアに優しさと華やぎを添えてくれる一枚となりました。

This piece is made from a Nishijin-ori fukuro-obi, estimated to have been woven between the 1950s and 1980s.
On a gentle golden ground, delicate threads depict circular dish motifs filled with seasonal flowers such as chrysanthemums, cherry blossoms, and maple leaves. The design evokes the refined beauty and warm brilliance of flowers gracefully arranged in vessels.

In Japanese symbolism, vessels represent receiving, fulfillment, gratitude, and blessings, making them auspicious motifs.
Framed as an artwork, this piece brings both soft elegance and festive charm to any interior space.
